Our Team

Dusty Caldwell: Sales Manager and Owner of Open Road Honda, Dusty has been a motorcycles enthusiast and rider since 1976. Before starting Open Road Honda, Dusty worked 12 years at American Honda as a Senior District Sales Manager. Prior to Honda, he was a District Sales Manager for Kawasaki and Polaris.

Annette Behm-Caldwell: Business & Marketing Manager. Annette, a Devils Lake native, grew up riding an ATC90 three-wheeler and has the scars to prove it. She has been riding street bikes since 1989 and has fond memories of her first bike, a Honda GB500. Annette and Dusty are the proud parents of two girls who love to ride as long as they can wear pink helmets. Annette is also active in the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce, North Dakota Powersports Dealers Assoc. and Corpus Christi Catholic Church religious education programs.
Jason Bauman: Service Manager. A sport bike enthusiast and rider since 1993, Jason joined Open Road Honda as a Sales Associate and then was promoted to Service Manager. Jason has recently discovered the joys of a cruiser motorcycle and is proud of the VTX1300 Big Wheel motorcycle he created.
Nyla Tietz: Honorary Team Member. Now retired but forever a member of the Open Road Honda team.
Gerald Behm: Power Products Manager. Open Road Honda's "Power Product Expert", Gerald will help you to find the right lawnmower, generator, tiller, trimmer, or snow blower for your needs. Prior to joining Open Road Honda, Gerald was the head president of a successful North Dakota small business and has 40 years of sales experience.
Jesse Auday: Sales Associate. Jesse’s passion for powersports started over 20 years ago with a Honda Odyssey in the sand dunes off the Oregon coast. His enthusiasm grew while terrorizing his childhood street on a Honda Spree. His love for motorcycles includes all road bikes from cruisers to sport and all niches in between. While serving as ABATE District Representative, he enjoyed introducing the “bikers” to the thrill of a sport bike. Jesse’s dirt riding only involves ATV’s but he is looking forward to see if he can survive his first motocross adventure.
Chuck Hauff: Sales Associate joined the Open Road Honda team in March 2008. Chuck brings with him 30 years of riding experience and a passion for the motorcycle industry. The Honda Goldwing is Chuck’s ride and he can tell you anything you need to know about that class of motorcycle. Chuck has over 40 years sales experience earned at one of the nations largest retailers and most recently with the KFYR-TV sales team.
Jesse Maier: Service Department Associate. Jesse enjoys working with customers and the technicians in servic. He is an expert on MX performance parts and when he's not assisting the technicians, delivering new units or helping with a quick oil change, Jesse, enjoys racing his Honda CRF250R in the NDMA series
Shawn Volk: Parts Associate. Speed is in his blood and Shawn loves to work with customers to help their units go faster or sound meaner. In his spare time Shawn races the #s8 Thunder Four at the Dacotah Speedway in Mandan. Shawn earned the 2007 Thunder Four Championship and 2006 Thunder Four rookie of the year.
Brett Fuller: Parts Associate. You may not see Brett at the parts counter because he is often in the back parts room doing the important job of opening boxes and receiving Honda or aftermarket parts and accessories. When not out on his CBR 600RR you may catch him in his 07 Mustang cruising the town.
Zach Taber: Service Technician. Honda Silver level Technician and a graduate of Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, FL. Zach grew up in Minnesota and started riding dirt bike before he was old enough realize girls were as cool as bikes. When he's not wrenching, Zach can be found snowboarding or doing motos on a dirt bike.
Kent Mowder: Parts Associate. After working 20 years in the very respectable field of plumbing contracting and supplies – Kent decided it was time to HAVE SOME FUN! Kent started riding motorcycles in 1980 and now his riding experience and motorcycle knowledge is benefiting Open Road Honda parts customers. After hours Kent keeps putting the miles on his Kawasaki Mean Streak or training his hunting dogs..
Josh Vietz: Josh Vietz, Office Manager. A graduate of Aakers College with an accounting degree, Josh may have a head for numbers but he still has an eye for a nice bike. Josh's first motorcycle was a Yamaha SECA 550 that he is proud to say he only dumped once. When he is not working Josh likes to play softball and is the proud father of his son Aiden.
Casey Martin: Service Technician. Honda Bronze level Technician. Casey received his training at NDSSS and graduated at the top of his class. He enjoys working on a variety of units and is currently building a 1983 KZ550 in his spare time. Not only an excellent mechanic but also an excellent chef that makes one mean pot roast.
Galen Schmidt: Service Writer. Galen brings his Honda Bronze level Technician experience to the service customers. A Hazelton, ND native, Galen is a top graduate from NDSSS in Wahpeton with a recreational engines degree. Galen is an electrical whiz and can diagnose power equipment problems in record time. After hours, Galen works his "second job" helping his dad and brother farm.
Larry Schlafman: Service Technician. Larry has been working on Honda engines since 1971 and still enjoyes his job. Larry is an expert at fine tuning older motors and knows more than all the service manuals combined. When not at the shop Larry prefers the relaxed life of boating on the river with his grandchildren or working in his garden.
Josh Hoffer: Set-up. bike wrenchin' plastic polishin' plow mountin' machine! After work Josh studies for his classes at BSC and rides.
